- Heat oil in a pan and sauté onions till translucent.
- Add chicken and sauté for five minutes.
- Add three fourths of the crushed black peppercorns and salt and mix well.
- Heat the pita bread on both the sides.
- Cut them into half, open out the pocket, apply half a teaspoon of mustard paste, arrange one lettuce leaf, some tomato slices, put some chicken mixture, slices of gherkins, some mayonnaise, sprinkle some of the remaining crushed black peppercorns and salt and serve immediately.
- Repeat the same with the remaining pita breads.
